Indexing fields by range in one list

Featured Replies

My db contains a relation of cars.

Actually I can list all of my records in one separated text field as "category", "manufacturer", "model", "year", "price", "client".

But I need to categorize the list by ranges. Example:

"category 1"

"manufacturer 1"

"model", "year", "price", "client"

"model", "year", "price", "client"

"model", "year", "price", "client"

"manufacturer 2"

"model", "year", "price", "client"

"model", "year", "price", "client"

"model", "year", "price", "client"

"category 2"

"manufacturer 1"

"model", "year", "price", "client"

"model", "year", "price", "client"

"model", "year", "price", "client"

etc.

Is possible to do it with calculation?

Is possible to sort the result in a specific order too, by model and price?

Thank you and sorry for my english

Leading sub-summary parts are generally the way to go. The drawback is that you can only view them in Preview mode (although you can also print the list). The upside is that you'll see exactly what you want.

Create a leading sub-summary part when sorted by Category and put the "Category" field in it. Create another one below it when sorted by Manufacturer, and put the "Manufacturer" field in it. Then put the other fields in the body part. Sort by Category and Manufacturer (and anything else you want) and go to Preview mode.

BTW, don't worry about your English -- if our President had your command of our language ... can you say "nuclear"? He can't!

Your answer tranquilizes to me... I will try tomorrow

With respect to your president, Its fame precedes to him, we can listen to the echoes of his blunders (?) here in Spain.

But think about it:

Perhaps I can pronounce correctly "nuclear" but he can request that they gather the limousine to him to go to buy a hot dog. I am afraid that my boss will not admit that to me... not today.

grin.gif GREAT! GREAT! GREAT! Thank you very much.

After some attempts to catch the mechanism I could finaly obtain my list by hierarchy.

Now I want one more step... (this question is probably better in "getting data out topic").

Do you know any trick to save this data like tabulated text after printing?

I will try to print as .pdf to extract later the text. Another possibility may be "Print2Pict" software and "Text Capture FKEY".

What do you think, have any experience?

Uhm... the .pdf method didn't work at all. Tabs are converted to spaces...

Ok, I'm still working around the .pdf format to get my data out as text. I was thinking about introducing a new field between each others with a tab symbol but it doesn't work again... don't know why. I used Option-tab to obtain the tab symbol in the text field but the .pdf simply ignores it. Another problem is the Euro symbol in my prices, it's ignored as well.
