iain Posted October 3, 2001 Posted October 3, 2001 problem: multiple requests to a published database when the format file (after you have done the request - i.e. not the static html page) exceeds 40KB will hang FMP - we run IIS on NT with WSC + FMP Server with 3 Boxes in the RAIC so this ought to be as robust a system as we can do. make sure all results pages are less than 40Kb - this is a potential nightmare but for now we're working on this basis - basically if you have a page that returns more tha 15 records this tends to make the page over 40KB give it a try: simply find a results page over 40KB press refresh 25 times and see what happens - i'll bet FMP hangs solution: i don't know - any ideas???
Vaughan Posted October 15, 2001 Posted October 15, 2001 What version and patch level of FileMaker Pro and Web Companion are you using? Ditto for OS.
iain Posted October 15, 2001 Author Posted October 15, 2001 Filemaker 5.0v3 Webcompanion v6 Windows NT4 SP6a(RP1)
Anatoli Posted October 15, 2001 Posted October 15, 2001 IMHO -- absolute nonsense this 40K limit. I am serving page with size of 66K -- full text field and some other stuff -- for 10 minutes without crash. And once we served for test pages well over 300k with 200 replies. Maybe the 25 times refresh has something to do with this, but who on earth will do that? I've just pressed the refresh 30 times and nothing happened.
