Newbies Elbolton Posted August 2, 2002 Newbies Posted August 2, 2002 Hi, We have just discovered FM and are interested in using it to publish to the web. We are still evaluating and would like to see some of the issues before we take the plunge with real money! From what I can gather, it seems that CDML is crucial here. Does anyone know of a post or article that can act as a primer? Thank you
Anatoli Posted August 2, 2002 Posted August 2, 2002 Get the CDML reference database. Try something simple. Ask questions here. HTH
Keith M. Davie Posted August 2, 2002 Posted August 2, 2002 CDML is Claris Dynamic Markup Language, a subset of LDML (Lasso Dynamic Markup Language). They present tags which, in conjunction with FileMaker's Web Companion's built-in cgi, allow dynamism between html and FileMaker databases. The cdml reference database, available from FileMaker's website, is a helpful reference to the tags of cdml, and a very important tool for the FMPro developer of browser solutions utilizing Custom Web Publishing. CWP is the most versatile solution. IWP is wysiwyg and limiting.
