"Max # of users" message on MACs

Featured Replies

Interestingly, I only saw this message on MAC machines, never on the PC. The message reads

"You can not connect to the server, because maximum number of users is connected"

Meanwhile that's not the case, only 2 or 3 users are connected to the server. Has anyone experienced this with File Maker 5.0 and OS 9.0 ?

Couple of possibilities: Shared IP addresses or Filemaker Pro install codes, incorrectly set number of users on Filemaker Server.

Did you check the server with administrative tools?

On Windows I can see several users with the same Name an IP in USER database. I do not why, but they are there...

I notice this prob on a couple of networked Mac programs, like FM and Now-up-to-Date & Contact (most times I found it was the same lic on two or more machines on the network, although that is not definitive).
