Follow Up on Drag and Drop Images Into FM

This post is a follow up on a similar post regarding drag and drop images into FM

I am able to drag and drop images into FM on my work PC (Dell Win2k) and WAS able to do the same on my home PC (Win98). Recently I upgraded to Win2k Pro at home, and ever since dragging and dropping images into FM only displays the icon in the container field.

I consulted the FMI Knowledge Base and Article 107041 ( http://filemaker.com/ti/107041.html ) titled When Using Terminal Services Jpeg and Gif Files in Container Fields Only Show as Icon was the only relevant article. However, I am not running a 2k terminal service client, so what else may cause this difference? Additionally, the article suggests using insert picture as a workaround - but I don't want a workaround! I want to know why it works on some machines and not others.

If anyone has info, I'd invite you to enlighten us.

My best guess is some kind of settings buried in Windows and/or compression.

FM is product of Apple -- I guess, that installing QuickTime will not hurt FileMaker at all.

BTW I can import the picture, but drag 'n' drop doesn't work a bit.
