Determining whether a portal row is odd or even

Featured Replies

hello all,

I searched for this topic but could not find anything. I am running FM 21.1.1.41 on FM Cloud. I have a line item portal for entering part numbers for bidding purposes. I set the portal to alternate row state.

The issue I have is that some of my fields have a fill color which negates the whole point of alternate row state. I have a Primary key field sitting behind a part number field. The part number is displayed and cannot be edited in browse mode. The key field behind it, has a drop down list of the primary key field. The list shows only the second field (part number). So I cannot make that field transparent because both fields will show over each other. I would like to be able to put conditional formatting in the part number field that would change the fill color based on whether the portal row is odd or even, then I can make the color match the alternate row colors.

Can this be done? All I can find is "Active portal row number" in the calculations. I though about numbering the line items in the portal when entering but I have multiple layouts with different sort options for the portal so it would only work on the unsorted layout.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Mike
