simon1663 Posted September 4, 2002 Posted September 4, 2002 Is it possible to make a applescript in macosx where it can take screen shot and save it in a file?? I am macosx newbie
falkaholic Posted September 9, 2002 Posted September 9, 2002 You'll need to get an OSA plug in that adds screen shot as a function. Since that is not programming into MacOS. Look around the AppleScript sites (Applescripter.net is one i think. look on google) If you don't mind me asking, why do you need to take a screen shot like this?
simon1663 Posted September 10, 2002 Author Posted September 10, 2002 Thanks for the info... The problem was I have shell access to my MaxOSX server which is 800 km from where I am... And i needed to do some work on it(Filemaker related) which requires desktop access. I thought I can get it working with applescripts but I needed some screen confirmation for what I have done is working... Anyway, it is not required anymore because I have figured out a very cool way to launch OSXvnc server from shell And then i get full desktop access. Thank god there was VNC otherwise it would have costed me $1400 here in Australia to buy Timbuktu or Apple remote desktop..
falkaholic Posted September 10, 2002 Posted September 10, 2002 If that server is running FM server (instead of pro) it wouldn't have worked anyway. Since the screen shot would have been taken on the client machine.
