Script xor find on two fields

Featured Replies

I have a task list database...multi user

i have created a script that when a user logs in it searches for open messages for that particular person...

If(Status(CurrentGroups)="User1"

Enter Find Mode

Set Field[assigned1,"User1_initials"

Set Field[status,"Open"]

Perform Find

End If

Now, my employer wants to have two assigned fields so that we can assign the same task to two people at once...the problem is if I add the following under assigned1

set field[asssigned2,"User1_initials"]

it searches to see if each record has both value true when i need it to search if each record has either/or true and display those results

any suggestions

thanks

To script an "OR" find (not an XOR), create a second find request with the "assigned 2" field set to the same user name and status set to open.

As an alternative, you can have two names in the assigned field separated by a carriage return and all will work fine. You might want to look at the FMI TechInfo database under finds for more info on exactly how they react.
