timolous Posted October 16, 2002 Posted October 16, 2002 What does this text actually means about(below)? We have one web server hosting multible web sites. Are these multible web sites same as "virtual domains"? Does anybody here use Filemaker VW on multible sites on one server? Link to page Virtual Domains Not Supported In FileMaker Web Server Connector For FileMaker Pro 5.0, FileMaker Pro 5.5, Or FileMaker Pro 6.0 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- While some web servers that work in conjunction with the FileMaker Web Server Connector support 'virtual domains', the FileMaker Web Server Connector itself was never tested or certified to operate with web servers set up using virtual domains. It is not recommended to use Web Server Connector with virtual domains. This document was published at a particular point in time. Anatoli Posted October 16, 2002 Posted October 16, 2002 Yeah, I do. Create directory for each client in Web folder. Link to that from Static pages like http://123.123.123.123/client1 or http://123.123.123.123/client2 HTH
timolous Posted October 17, 2002 Author Posted October 17, 2002 I do know how to do it.. We use virtual folders on multible sites so that we have urls like this: http://www.xxx.com/fmpro http://www.yyy.com/fmpro http://www.zzz.com/fmpro all on one server.. And every fmpro shares same WC connection.. I was wondering we this Config is allow to use with Filemaker WC.....
Anatoli Posted October 17, 2002 Posted October 17, 2002 RE: And every fmpro shares same WC connection.. I was wondering we this Config is allow to use with Filemaker WC..... Did you meant WComp or WConnector? Since your xxx yyy and zzz is the same IP it should work. We do use Web connector for port 80 we do not see the FMPRO. Because each client has own directory... see above
