staypuffinpc Posted November 5, 2002 Posted November 5, 2002 I have a number of files. I navigate through them with a simple script that hides the current file and opens or goes to the desired file by clicking on a button. I've now set up passwords, programmer, systems manager and TA in each of the files. I used to be able to click on my button and it would take me to the desired file. If the file was already open, it would take me to that file. Now that I've set up passwords, it asks for a password as I enter the destination file and opens up another window of that file if it's already open. For example, if Contents is already open, clicking on a "Go to contents" button in another file asks me for a password and opens another Contents window, instead of the already opened window. Why is this happening and how do I fix it?
Vaughan Posted November 5, 2002 Posted November 5, 2002 All the files need to have *exactly* the same password. If one file tries to open another file, FMP will use the password that opened the first file. If that doesn't work the user gets prompted for the password.
DykstrL Posted November 13, 2002 Posted November 13, 2002 ...Also remember that passwords in FMP are case-sensitive.
Chris Wood Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Do you mean are NOT case sensitive as in my version of FMP? Chris
