I have another question!! Is there a way, via the web and IWP, that when a user clicks on submit after adding a new recored, that I can have it automatically email specific users that new records have been created?

I am running FM Pro 5.5

Easy with Custom Web Publishing... probably not posible with IWP.

Thanks for the response, now one question, where is the best place to find information on this, and/or a good book.

Search on email (or mail) in the CDML forum. You may find some information there.

All the best.

Get the CDML reference FM database.

There is full CDML syntax.

There is one way to accomplish this in intant web publishing. I have not done this myself, but have a friend that got it to work. He used the filemaker plugin called Events.

As I recalled he set it up to either trigger a script when a particular field had changed, or it ran the script at certain times of the day.

The script could be something like do a find for records modified today, then generate some sort of email. Or based on a calculation where field= something, then send an email with a fields contents, ect.
