paul_apted Posted December 27, 2002 Posted December 27, 2002 Hello, I am interested in getting a book on scripting for Filemaker and indeed also a book on Applescript ( i am a beginner ) any ideas anyone?? THank You Paul Apted
jfmcel Posted December 29, 2002 Posted December 29, 2002 For AppleScript, I like Applescript in a Nutshell (a good resource and the only book that covers OS X scripting) and AppleScript for the Internet (lots of great example scripts). But you should start with the AppleScript guide provided by Apple. It is free and available either in HTML format or as a PDF. I don't have a recomendation for ScriptMaker. Most any FM book will do as an introduction.
jasonwood Posted January 5, 2003 Posted January 5, 2003 The popular recommendation around here for ScriptMaker scripting is "scriptology"... have a look in the "FileMaker Resources" forum. Do you know where I can find the "AppleScript guide", I don't see that on Apple's web site. I'm looking for a good basic intro to AppleScript.
jfmcel Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 You will find the link to both the PDF and the HTML versions at http://www.apple.com/applescript/resources/ I think that downloading the PDF to your hard drive works best.
