tallboy755 Posted January 27, 2003 Posted January 27, 2003 How can I write a script that identifies and deletes duplicates.
BobWeaver Posted January 28, 2003 Posted January 28, 2003 I would also check the example script at the end of chapter 10 in the Filemaker manual. It shows how to find duplicates and omit (or delete) the duplicates without removing the original record. Don't forget to do a backup first.
merkaba22 Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 I have the FileMaker manual to 8.5 and there is no chapter 10 -- goes just to chapter 6. Is it possible to see this script?
mr_vodka Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 You are referring to a thread that is over 5 years old... This post I believe is for when FM6 was still around. I think that FM7 didnt even come out until 2004... Anyway, do a search in your FileMaker help for "Identifying duplicate values using a self-join relationship"
Lee Smith Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 (edited) I started to reply with the same thing that Mr. Vodka has done, but while search for a good lead, he posted. So, as he suggested , do a search for [color:blue]+Script +Duplicate +delete and you will get a lot of hits. Among them is this one Here. that shows an example of a Script. Be sure to use the pluses as shown. HTH Lee Edited May 15, 2008 by Guest
