dysong3 Posted March 12, 2003 Author Posted March 12, 2003 WEll I'm answering my own question but I simply copied the ASCII tab character within Character Assassin and copied that into my formula. There is perhaps a more orthodox way of doing it and if so I would still like to know.
Lee Smith Posted March 12, 2003 Posted March 12, 2003 Nope that is the only way to capture a Tab. (i.e. from a tab used in a document). Lee
Pupiweb Posted March 13, 2003 Posted March 13, 2003 I use calculation fields and the substitute function for harmonizing the appearance of certain text fields like addresses, for example for changing ?St.? or ?St? or ?ST? always into ?street?. I would like to add to the cald a substitute of any tabulation (ASCII 9) into a simple space but I don't know and can't find how filemaker recognizes an ASCII character in a formular. Anyone have any ideas ? Put a tab in a global and use the global in the calc
