Hi,

I've got a quite complex question. You see I've been working with FileMaker for over a month now as an interaction designer.

And we recommend using FileMaker Pro to all of our clients. And by doing that. We're now trying to get our client on to the web. one of our clients (www.tdsl.nl) Already have a PHP based database. But we're now trying to make a FILEMAKER pro one so that they don't have to input the offline database and the online database, as they do now.

BUT my question is..... Is it even possible to make such a database on the web (FileMaker pro)? I mean.. i've been searching around on the web aand couldn't find anything simular. we already have an existing database.)

(If you wanna the what i mean.... do to www.tdsl.nl -> tuning -> uw auto.

And that's still the PHP database.)

So what we wanna do basicly is.... biuld them a simular database only that it's File maker Pro base.. If you have an example please email me or make a repost

I hope you can help me by awnsering this question, because. I've been doing research for over a 1,5 week now. And didn't get any farther.

With regards,

Donny Tyrone Beltgens

It's perfectly possible in filemaker. The database does not seem overly complicated, just a few mysql tables, i guess.

But since the database is working fine and the rest of the site runs on php, why not just import/export the car data.

What do you mean exaclty by "why not just import/export the car data." ?

Is this what you mean?

that I make a cdml file that imporst the data from the PHP data base.

Or that

the PHP file imports the data frm the FM5 file?

If it's not to much. could you explain more what you mean? of what i need to do. I'm still kinda new at the PHP, ASP filemaker thinh

Just some more info: FileMaker is using own language for dynamic web pages -- CDML and has own web server -- plugin Web Companion.

There is also php module for connecting FM and php. Search this forum.
