Using CDML in multiple relationship environment.

After "just looking" at the posts on this site, I decided to join up and post a question about web hosting using FileMaker. I have done many simple projects using CDML for our clients but my most recent involves the use of several related databases. I am trying to figure out if CDML is worth the effort as the main file and layout has multiple row portals that must all be added to and deleted from with checkboxes if possible.

We currently have several databases-

Ads - one record for every ad.

NetworkMarkets - One record for every Network Market combination. (Glamour - Boston)

AdsNeMa - One record for each ads Network Market combination.

Notes - Tracks comments posted by users about each ad.

Titles - Database that tracks insertions by magazine titles in different Network Market combos.

Ultimately our client wants to track ads and communicate with other users. These users are within their organization, ours and the magazine publishers. All need different levels of pass worded access. Our client enters/edits the ad vital info. We update it's progress through our production department. The client approves ads online. Publishers (Titles) approve online. We ship or FTP files.

On the web, workflow theory is:

User enters/creates a new record for every ad (Ads), selects Network (from related value list), picks Markets from a conditional value list based on Network (checkboxes). It is possible for an ad to run only in certain Markets under certain Networks. Adding and deleting a Network Market combination from an ads record is required in case of cancellation in only one market. Cancellation of an ad in an entire Network removes all markets from the ads record. My head spins just explaining it.

Right now, in plain old FileMaker this is all developed with portals, globals, scripting, etc, but the web is another whole animal. Should we even bother attempting this with CDML.

Does Lasso have enough horsepower to handle such a solution? Is it time to start looking for outside help?

Lasso with FM has 100 time more horsepower, than FM with WC.

Lasso with internal MySQL engine has >1000 times the power of FM+WC.

Apart of scripts you can use most of your FM databases with WC or Lasso.
