Newbies tmoney Posted August 5, 2003 Newbies Posted August 5, 2003 Does anybody know how the Access Log works? I mean, does it throw the requests onto the log as it receives them from the browsers (as it puts them in the queue) or does it write to the log as it pulls them out of the queue to process them? That might help me track down some errors I've been getting. If anybody knows of a place that explains the access log a little better that would be helpful too. I searched Filemakers techinfo articles but didn't find anything.
Steve T. Posted August 6, 2003 Posted August 6, 2003 Hi! I have no idea about when/how the log works, but I would think that it must register the log AFTER the process is complete since there are codes (200=success) that show if it was successful or encountered some kind of error (like a 404 not found). As to when the actual logs are written to the log file... it must batch the lines and then just write them in clumps, eh? Idle time like FileMaker? I dunno. Good luck! --ST
