Karen1958 Posted August 12, 2003 Posted August 12, 2003 Hi all, So glad to have found this forum! I've been able to fix all my perplexing FM problems but this one: for some indiscernable reason, I can't see the radio buttons in a field I've designated as radio buttons! I already have a radio button field in the same data base and setting it up was no problem, but the two new fields I added today and made into radio button fields DON"T show their buttons. What gives? Help! Karen
danjacoby Posted August 12, 2003 Posted August 12, 2003 You sure there isn't anything in front of the left side of the field? Like a big white box, for instance? Just a thought.
Wendy T Posted August 12, 2003 Posted August 12, 2003 hi Karen, is the Font Colour or the Pen Colour the same as the background? (or is that "Color" since this is a US-based forum) cheers, Wendy
Karen1958 Posted August 12, 2003 Author Posted August 12, 2003 Both very good questions, but (sadly) no. And the value list values DO show up in the field...just not the round button. Interestingly, when I changed the field to "check boxes", the check boxes also didn't show up. But changing the field to "pop up list" and "pop up menu" both worked fine. What the H*%L is going on? I'm going batty here! K.
LaRetta Posted August 12, 2003 Posted August 12, 2003 Hi Karen, It probably is a formatting issue. The easiest way to resolve it would be to copy the radio button of yours that works. Then double-click it to bring up the Field Definitions and re-select your new field. Then change the properties to point to your new VL. That should do it. LaRetta
Karen1958 Posted August 12, 2003 Author Posted August 12, 2003 Thanks! That works. I tried to do that another way but ran into problems. Duh! Sometimes it's so obvious...if you're not the one with the mystery on your hands. Karen
LaRetta Posted August 12, 2003 Posted August 12, 2003 Hi Karen, I didn't know your FM version or I would have suggested using Format Painter first (it requires vs. 6) to duplicate the format properties of your working radio buttons. I'm glad it worked for you. LaRetta
Lougee Posted August 12, 2003 Posted August 12, 2003 Click on your 'invisible' radio button field and select 'format borders' from the FORMAT menu. DESELECT the border options (top, bottom, right, left), then select your line thickness and line color from the border dropdown menus. The buttons will be drawn in whatever color has been selected for the border. Also check that the border is visible, not transparent. Abbe
