hi, is it possible to "import" some fields from another dbase

Are you trying to update current records, or import New records?

1). The data? or

2). The field names, the calculations?

The answer to 1. is yes, FileMaker handles a wide variety of files you can import.

The answer to 2. however, is more involved and will depend on the source of the information you wish to import.

Take a look at the import menu in FileMaker and or the Online Help, to give you an idea of what kind of files FM can import. FileMaker has an excellent Online Help (Cmd ? or Help button on a Mac). Type "import" in the Index menu of the Online Help and you will see some very helpful information.

Sorry, but that part can't be imported. You are going to have ot move it via copy and paste.
