Compatability with Quickbooks?

Featured Replies

so there's this database that i've been working on since the beginning of summer for my internship.... basically, it's a large DB that combines invoicing, quoting, contact lists, billing, accounts payables, etc for the company.

so anyway, my boss asked me if this badboy is compatible with quickbooks... i've never used QB before, and i don't have much of an idea as to what it is (except for some fancy program that people use to account for their company's invoicing/billing'n stuff...). is there a program that i can buy/use that will take data from my database(s) and import the stuff into QB?

i looked online for some things and it looks like that all the programs i've com across seem to be invoicing solutions themselves... that's not what i want. i want to use the invoicing solution that i created and have that just work with QB somehow. the programs i saw online would require me/users to re-type everything a second time (instead of just doing it once on the DB that i made). suggestions, folks? yawn* i'm bored.

thanks,

lutfi

ok... so my boss just told me that what he wants me to do is have an accounting window that looks JUST like QB (except that it's really filemaker)... and then just click some "export" button and have all that data go into QB for me.

know of any solutions i can buy/borrow/use?

*did i mention i was bored?

Also chekc the accounting section here. Dan Brill and I have done a fair bit of work in this area. The end result ... using XML to interface to QB is a bit of a pain but do-able, using QBooks IIF format for strictly importing is much easier but will not be supported for ever.
