jsaltzman Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 i have a filed called "trackingnumber" and i want to press a button to have it Open url "http://usps.com/shipping/trackandconfirm.htm?from=home&page=0035trackandconfirm" then i would like to have the tracking number entered into the field. can i do that?
jsaltzman Posted October 10, 2003 Author Posted October 10, 2003 thanks, i got that part. that will only open the url. how would i get the tracking number from the field in my db to be entered into the field on the website automatically?
-Queue- Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 If you can enter the number into the URL as a parameter, then you could use a calculated field with OpenURL. Otherwise, I don't think it's easily done.
DonH Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 Is there a way for FM to submit a form over the internet? If there is, then you can dynamically fill in the form fields and then submit the form to where the form on the website is supposed to go.
jsaltzman Posted October 10, 2003 Author Posted October 10, 2003 i dont know if you guys are familar with a program called auotit but i will just have to use that. i can make a script with autoit that will run when the url is opened and it will wait for the page to load, then "tab" to the field and paste in the info from the field. unless anybody knows how to do that with filemaker.
stuj1026 Posted October 14, 2003 Posted October 14, 2003 whats the name of that program "Auotit ?" I was unable to find it! where can I locate this? Stu
