zincb Posted October 29, 2003 Posted October 29, 2003 Your server may be on a different sub-network than your client. Ask your Network Support Team if they have installed any routers or bridges between you and your server. As a work-around, on the server, you can share the directory where your Filemaker files are kept. On the client side, you can map a drive to the shared directory.
esimon Posted October 30, 2003 Author Posted October 30, 2003 i am on a identic sub-network if I map a drive to shared directory, my client is connected to my database but i would to connect to database from hote and not shared directory can you help me for this solution
BobWeaver Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 Make sure that both the server and client are configured for TCP/IP.
esimon Posted November 3, 2003 Author Posted November 3, 2003 yes my server and my client are configured for tcp/ip
zincb Posted November 7, 2003 Posted November 7, 2003 Did this setup work in the past? If so, ask your Network Team what they did, recently. Sounds like it could be a security "fix".
