No records found

Featured Replies

I have a script that is returning "no records found" even when it finds records. When I remove the steps with my message box it runs fine but doesn't tell the user if no records were found. I've attached it as a pdf. Can someone explain what step(s) are incorrect.

to

If [status(CurrentFoundCount)>0]

Or just If [status(CurrentFoundCount)] wink.gif

Well, I'm kinda surprised....

Is english different from other languages that you'd accept an "s" at the end of "record" and use "are" while there is 0 record found :?

Yeah, you know we're weird like that. We don't use double negatives neither! (Well, those of us who know better do not...most of the time anyway.) wink.gif

There is/was no record found to match your search.

There are/were no records found to match your search.

Both would be correct. It just depends whether the predicate nominative is chosen to be singular or plural. However, the plural form 'sounds' more natural, to me at least.

Zero referring to 'none' or 'no', however, would be plural. One is the only numerical adjective taken as singular. That's why it's the loneliest number.

Thanks JT, great Math analysis of grammar grin.gif
