rivet Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 I have created a site for a client and it is all CDML driven. Now one of thier clients said that they could not see the site because thier company firewall was blocking it. Is there a way to avoid this from the developers end. Is there something I can put in my clients pages to avoid the problem.
Unable Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 Let me guess (you did not say), you are using Port 591. Ignorant IT admins often block this port. Why? They don't know. re: Is there something I can put in my clients pages to avoid the problem. If you are dealing with ignorant IT admins, the answer is No. One answer to avoiding firewall issues of others: serve over port 80 from a dedicated machine.
Leb i Sol Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 Can anyone else see your project but that company? if Answer= YES then like Unable said try the default web port #80....unless "their comapany" is not allowing any web access . Don't forget to open ports on Your firewall as well. I wonder about that admin....why o why would u block outbound traffic to a random port (in FM case your port #591)....I can see why block it for inbound....usually you worry about ports when u serve something from bihind the firewall not the other way arround. anyway...
