Darrell Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 I am running Filemaker Pro server 5 with 3 workstations. Here is my problem. I will have a user create a record on one of the workstations and the record appears on the other 2 workstations. When a user updates the record on any workstation you can view the updated record on all the other workstatiuons. Now when a user omits the record after they are done with it. The record is still showing on the other 2 workstations. How do I get the record to disapper on all the other workstations? Thanks
jscooper Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 I do not think this is possible without a plugin. Adding and modifying records changes the actual data (which is stored on the server) so it's available to all. Finds and Omits are done on a per-machine basis. I've seen plugins that do call scripts on other machines, but I can't remember what they are, off hand. Jeff
Vaughan Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 Found sets of records are local to each client. This is normal behaviour. Get the user to delete the record, rather than omit it. Otherwise you'll need to create an interface that controls which records user's can view. It's a lot of work.

dkemme Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 This is more of a problem when the users are looking at all of the records. If a user is looking at a found set, when a new record is created, it will not appear on the other users found set of records.
