Avoiding the gray page

Featured Replies

Hi there,

A guy gave me a hand to develop this tiny solution to avoid the gray page when a staff enters a restricted file. Instead of ending up with the gray page, it displays a message. Nice 'n Cute. Now I want to add a third password that enable the user to enter the file with the same restriction. I've been playing around with for a while without success.

Passwords:

Admin = 120

Staff = 1

This solution uses a mix of groups, the Welcome script and a global field.

Thanks,

Were you going to attach a sample?

Forgot to add the attached file. I had a big laugh too!

Hummm. Here is the file...

staff.zip

The secret of this file is the field "Access". It is only available to the group with the master password. When you try to set it to a value it fails. I have used a variation of this which has several fields with different access levels. The script checks to find the highest level permitted for the group.

Ralph,

Can you attach your file to a reply in order to see how you did it?

I will make a sample file latter today.

Here is the sample file. The developer Password is Master. The other 2 levels are Admin and User.

Thanks Ralph

With a few modifications, it operates like a rocket!
