Replacing non-breaking spaces with regular spaces

I wish to export the 4000 records in my FM Pro 6 database to xml format. I use non-breaking spaces in a title field for identification purposes. When the exported file is opened the text "Merck & Co." appears as "Merck

Have you tried using the Substitute Function in a calculation. It sounds like you only need this for an export. If so, create a calculation field and use the substitute function to replace the non-breaking space with a normal space. If you want this changed in the current field permanently, let us know and we can help you there too.

If you can't type a non-breaking space in the calculation box, you can capture one first. Create a field and calculation something like this:

YourExportField, Calculation, text result =

Substitute(YourCurrentField, "
