need a step by step guide of how to do this! please help and the tutorials have been no help!

Two methods exist:

1. Instant Web Publishing (IWP)

2. Custom Web Publishing (CWP)

For both of these the "WebCompanion" Plugin needs to be enabled and configured.

Check the manual for everything on WebCompanion.

Get a copy of the CDML Reference db. Look for that reference in the CDML forum. You will find at least one active link to the CDMLRdb.

There are many FREE examples of CWP posted in the Sample Files Forum. Each offers working examples of different CWP aspects. I believe most are in FMP5. I know those that I posted are all in FMP5, so you should have no problem running them to see how things work.

Staying in touch with this forum and the CDML forum on a daily basis can also be useful, not to mention all the past threads covering many issues.
