Hi Folks,

I have a layout that needs to print a number as a barcode - code 39.

I have downloaded a free code 39 font and configured a text field on my layout as this font.

It happens that the font works 100% on Mac Os Text Edit. but on my Filemaker layout "disapears" The text is there, But I can't see it!

If I copy the fields contents and paste on Text Edit. Voul

I have used barcode fonts from FM many times over the years with success. Without knowing which free font you are using, it's a little hard to determine exactly what is happpening in your case. A copy of the font would help, do you have a link to it?

Hi Coziman!

Thanks for posting, and for the font.

I have downloaded your files.

I couldn't add the second font, the "Free3of9.t1" to my Font book. Drag it to font book and nothing happens.

But the first font I added Ok.

It works as far as visibility is concerned, but I ran into further problems.

I tried using it, and to make my barcode fit in a A4 paper, I had to configure a syze 12 on the font.

The result of my 47 digit long bar code is about 1/8th of an inch high. (3mm)

No reader can handle it.

Am I using the wrong type of code?

Hi Lee!

Thanks for posting!

The UPC works here with me, expect for two details:

1) I need to generate a 47 digit long bar code. (the examples generates a 11 digit, the remaining digits are cut off)

2) I don't need a checking digit at the end of the barcode. My Applescript already generates 5 checking digits within my 47 digit long string.

I have no idea how the .fp5 works out to generate the bar code.

Have you used it for a while?

How can I remove the 11 digit limit and the checking digit generator?

Thanks!

I would like to be able to use a font to insert barcodes into a field as well, but I would like to use UPC-A. I tried the example from cjaeger, but since I will be using many records with different barcodes, I think it may be a little too slow.

Does anyone know of a free UPC-A font?

thanks.
