Scripted Import and lookup fields

Featured Replies

I'm writing a script to import records. Some of the target fields are lookups or calculations. I have set up the Import Order and saved it with the script, along with the "Perform auto-enter options while importing" option checked. This option setting doesn't appear to be remembered!

Currently I have to allow FM to show the Import dialog, and select the auto-enter option manually each time.

Is this working as advertised? Is there a way to do this automatically?

Thanks for your consideration,

Chap

ScriptMaker apes (remembers) the last "Find", "Sort", "Import", "Export", and "Page Setup" that was performed. What this means is, perform any of thm, and then immediately create a script with the script step in it, and you have saved the script as you performed it.

For existing script that you want to update, the process is the same, except you then open the existing script you want to modify using the Edit window of ScriptMaker, make any change to the Options for the Script Steps you want, (i.e. perform without dialog), and then click Okay.

This will bring up a second dialog box that will asked you if you want to "Keep" or "Replace" any of the steps I mention above that were used in the script. You can tell which ones they are, because they will be darken. You will want to replace your Import one for sure.

blush.gif Oops. I continue to forget that I have to choose "Replace" in that dialog. Thanks for the reminder!
