Mandu Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 I want to find out, from a script in DB1, if there's already a related record in DB2 and, if so, refuse to invoke an external script in DB2 to add a record. In addition, if there are two or more related records, I want to be able to put up an error message. The relationship is to a Customer database and is based on telephone number. What is the easiest way to find out how many related DB2 records there are to the current DB1 record? Thanks for your consideration, Chap
-Queue- Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 If [isEmpty(relationship::serial)] <-- there is no related serial, so no related records exist Perform Script [External] Else If [Count(relationship::serial) > 1] <-- the number of related serials is greater than 1 Show Custom Dialog ["Error: 2 or more related records already exist."] Else Show Custom Dialog ["A related record already exists."] End If End If
