i've got 6 unlimited installed on a W2k workstation that has IIS installed...i've got the port of the http service on IIS set to 81 and the web companion to 80...everything has been fine...i rebooted it yesterday and now it's complaing of a port conflict on 80...IIS is still set to 81 and there is nothing else using 80...any clues?

Howdy! Well, I'm afraid I don't know much about virii/worms/spyware/etc. (mostly use Macs which are typically not affected) but my guess is that something you do not know about is using :80 without your knowledge. Most home users don't serve from :80 so they would be oblivious whereas you're getting a port conflict because you're serving on it. Try using :8080 for FM and see what happens. My guess is you'll have no conflict... just tracking down the :80 culprit may be a hassle.

I hope I'm wrong for your sake, but that seems the most likely answer to me. Do you have any port scanning software or utilities you can use?
