December 2, 200421 yr I know this topic has been covered a lot recently but reading the thread left me confused! Sorry! Here is my problem: I have a text field called CHOICE which has three checkboxes called OPTION 1, OPTION 2 and OPTION 3. I would like to see those records where OPTION 2 has been clicked to appear in a separate portal. As an extra, can the results in the portal be further modified to show records where OPTION 2 has been picked between 2 dates? What I have in mind here is a button setup which asks for the first and last date and then shows the found records in a portal. I am a FM newbie so appreciate your responses! Frank Bugeja
December 2, 200421 yr Hi Frank, and Welcome to the Forum. I see you are using v7, and I don't have (can't use) it because of system restrictions. I've attached a sample file done in version 6 to this post, that I hope you can convert, that I hope will help explain how this can be done. The file is nothing to look at. December 3, 200421 yr Author Thanks Lee! Your file did convert to v7 and after ripping it apart to learn how it works and fiddling around with the portal - it works as I want it to work! Avagoodweekend from the Land Down Under! Frank
December 3, 200421 yr Author Sorry Lee - just one thing, please! I'm finding that when I create a new record in my Data layout, a new portal layout is being similarly created so that when I go to the Main layout I'm ending up with the same number of portal layouts as data records. In your example, the same Main layout is always displayed regardless of whether I scroll backwards/forwards using the slider below the book icon ie you only have one Main layout which correctly shows what you want to see. I've checked your example and I've seen you've made the g_Choice field global - fine and I've made my selection field global as well but .... what am I doing wrong? Frank
December 3, 200421 yr Author Problem Solved! Had the portal showing the wrong table! Now (finally) works perfectly! Frank
