Hello everybody, im a new filemaker user and i need som help putting my searching togheter. Its a system for a realestate company and they want to see at witch dates their apartments are rented or empty.

I have one field called "fr

It would be much easier to put your date information in a related table, where there would be one record for each date. Then you only have to search one related field instead of 24 separate ones. You would also be able to easily sort and summarize this data for any reports, which would be very difficult with your current setup.

For some basics concerning relationships, check this or peruse/search the Relationships forum for several sample files and detailed explanations.

Ive been reading for several hours and soon i will start drinking alot of alcohol if i cant get this working:(

Any one knows about a template or someone has made a program for a realestate company?:o

It looks like you need a table Property. The fields would be PropertyID, Address, City, State, Postal code.

You need another table Lease. The fields would be LeaseID, PropertyID, Tenant, StartDate, EndDate.

These tables are related by PropertyID.

A portal in Property will show a history of the leases for the property.
