I'm stumped. I have two tables. Pricelines and PriceMatrix. I've always used the Pricelines "code" field as my look up reference. I then could bring the field value into my quotes, invoice, jobs etc.

Now I'm trying to create a matrix to simplify the creation of new records in Pricelines with a improved interface. I don't know how to get all of the needed data in Pricelines from Pricematrix. I need the matrix to be dynamic and I would need several matrix with different price schedules.

How can I make "number of colors", and "quantities" dynamic? Would it be possible for the user to choose how many price points and colors they would like available on their matrix.

I've attached my starting point. I don't know where to go from here. Maybe my answer is wrong. Maybe I'm not asking the right question.

Help please. Just get me started in the right direction.

Hi,

If you want your Matrix to be dynamic, you'd like it to be flexible enough. Repeaters in this case wouldn't fit the need in my opinion.

Your file is locked though, but I could imagine the settings in place.

Relationships would offer much more help in building custom prices matrix, which on the end would just be brought to the pricelines involving Lookup( ) and LookupNext ( ) if I'm right your Price points are Quantity breaks.

I would suggest you look into getting FM 7 Developer and make use of The Shadow's custom matrix functions.
