FMguest
Hi, is it possible to export a layout from "file1" and import it in "file2". Both are Filemaker6 and have the same structure - the same number of the fields and the same field names. Actualy "file2" is a copy of "file1". Thank you for your help! DykstrL
The best way is: create the found set in file1. activate a script in file2 to import the records from file1, matching field names. delete found set in file1 if they are to be 'moved'. [Omit this step if the records are only to be copied.]
Lee Smith
Hi quest, I read your request a little different. If I'm reading you correctly, the only way to move a Layout Design from one file to another is, by copy and paste. Open both files, and then go into layout mode. In the Target file, create New "BLANK" layout. Go to the Layout in the old file, Select ALL, Copy. Back to the Target File and paste. You will need to move the paste around a little to get it where you want it. HTH Lee
-Queue-
Set your part dimensions in the new file to match the old one, before you copy/paste.
