Find and Sort Not Working With Dates

We are having issues with a few of our databases. We have a "Date Paid" field that is manually entered. The field is formatted as a date field, indexed, and must have a 4-digit year. Certain dates will not be sorted correctly or found. Example: a record contains a 'date paid' field as 11/22/2004 - it is not found when doing a find and when sorted it ends up towards the end of the sort when there are dates that are chronologically after it. The dates are entered correctly.

Please help!

I would say you probably have it defined as a text field, if it weren't for the detail you provided. It sounds as if the index may be corrupted. Disable indexing on the field. Close the file. Open the file and index the field. Does it work now?

No. It still didn't work. I tried turning the indexing off and restarting the database and I tried turning it back on and restarting and sorting and it still doesn't work. frown.gif

Thanks for any help!

Can you post a sample of one of the problem files and tell which field/layout demonstrates it?

Date Paid field. I have deleted most of the original fields to protect the information.

Thanks.
