Jacob
I have a small DB that is used to collect data from the various faculty here for their yearly interviews. I have them report on their various research/publications etc. and then compile the data into reports used by the admin here. The problem is, I have a layout set up to print these reports, and when I go to preview mode (or when I print) my field headings disappear. All of the data is there, but the labels seem to completely vanish (they look fine in layout mode and in browse mode). I have sliding enabled to shrink the text boxes to fit the inputted data, could that be causing the problems? The problem seems to be worse when the fields are empty - but I'd like to print the field labels even when the fields are empty. Any help would be appreciated. aaa
When you go Preview mode FM shows not current record in foundset, he shows the first record. May be the first record is empty?
Jacob
I know, but I don't care whether or not a field has any text in it, I want the field labels to print regardless.
-Queue-
Whether a field has data should not effect whether its label prints. Have you verified that the labels are not set to 'do not print' under Format Sliding/Printing?
Leader
Wait, are the labels truly in the HEADER portion or do they overlay the BODY? If I remember correctly, items that overlap do not prevue or print correctly. Be sure, of course, that the items are actually enabled for printing. Jacob
I've checked, the fields and text boxes do NOT overlap, also all items are enabled for printing. Other ideas?
Vaughan
Yeah... post the file.
Jacob
Ok, here's the file. I use the layout "Main" for entering text (bigger fonts, scrolling text boxes). I've tried both of the other layouts for printing, but have been entirely unsuccessful. Any hints? Stewardship-copy.zip

comment
Hm.. I can't see any problem.. Are you trying to print with no records in the found set?
Jacob
It doesn't matter whether or not there are records in the found set, regardless I still can't see all the text boxes in preview mode that I can in browse mode.
comment
Well, I don't know. I downloaded your file, went to Preview mode and it was blank. I created a new record, went to Preview mode, and it matched what I see in Browse. I gather it means that you can't print records when there are no records. I didn't know that, but it makes sense.
