Getchi Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 I'm new to this, and I'm not sure what the correct terms are for what I'm trying to do, but here goes: I'm using the Substitute function to remove some punctuation from a field. How do I string the Substitute functions together so that all punctuation can be removed in one calculation? Below is an example of what I'm trying to do...the calculation doesn't work and I don't know the proper way of combining the statements. Thanks! Substitute(title, ",", "") and Substitute(title, ".", "") and Substitute (title, "_", "")

Lee Smith Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Off of the top of my head, what you want to do is to gang the Substitute Function something like this. Substitute(Substitute(Substitute(Substitute(Substitute(title, "," , ""), "." , ""), "_" , ""), ";" , ""), ":" , "") HTH Lee
