Locking layout size margins

Featured Replies

I have a custom label layout, so the layout's size set at a size that will allow me to print 5 labels out onto the label.

However, whenever I add a new field to the table that the layout uses, FM7 will automatally add the field to the end of the label, which expands the size of my label and throws off the printing for the label.

I realize I can just switch to another layout when I'm editing the table, but I'm curious to see if anyone knows if there's a way to either lock the layout, or have fm7 not automatically add the field to the end of the layout.

Thanks

Under the Preferences, on the Layout tab, there is a checkbox "Add newly defined fields to current layout" - make sure that is unchecked.

problem solved.

thank you! =)

This is one of the first things I do each time I sit down at new computer. wink.gif

And the first time you forget, you'll be rudely awakened to a stray field appearing below view, throwing off your perfectly set layout; with staff saying, "Wow! I can scroll down the page! What's this field down here for!?"

I tell them I put it there to test them. biglaff.gif
