MoonShadow Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 We need more information. 1) Are you asking how to fire a script on just one record? 2) Do you want a button to appear on a layout ONLY for one record? A record meeting certain criteria? Give us at least 4 sentences and then we might be able to help you properly.
1616 Posted April 2, 2005 Author Posted April 2, 2005 Yes i would like a button to appear on a layout ONLY for one record? A record meeting certain criteria?
MoonShadow Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 Okay, with the wealth of information you've provided, this is about all I can suggest: 1) Use invisible portal, put your button in the portal. Make or break this relationship depending upon script or calculation. 2) Have button on every layout but only let it 'act' depending upon conditions within the existing record. Can you explain the criteria or situation in which this will be implemented?
1616 Posted April 2, 2005 Author Posted April 2, 2005 Sorry i will explain it better I have a badge with a set of criteria each criteria being a seperate record. On only one of the criteria i would like a button that goes to a new layout which shows more details of this specific criteria
MoonShadow Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 I still don't follow. Do you have two related tables and the criteria are records in the related table? Please state the nature of your problem and describe your current fields/structure a bit. I can't even make guesses with so little information. Maybe someone else can try also.
1616 Posted April 3, 2005 Author Posted April 3, 2005 I have a table called Badge one of its fields is called Badge no. In another table called badge criteria i also have a field called badge no this is what the relationship is based on. In the table badge criteria i also have a field called badge criteria, each record represents a criteria, in only one specific criteria record i would like a button to appear
