Get() functions not working when portal is in body

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am trying to use Get(RecordNumber) in a field. It is placed in the body. On any other layout this works fine, but when used on a layout with a portal in it, it produces random numbers or at least it seems like it. The field is not in the portal but outside of it.

Storage is turned off so it is calculating when necessary.

Any ideas? Test it yourself, it doesn't work. Driving me bananas. I can't think of any other way to show the current record number in a field. I thought about pasting the contents of @@ (which does show the correct record number) into a field but there is no way to do that in a script.

Thanks in advance

I tried. It works!

In Layout mode, double-click the field and verify that it belongs to the current table.

If you still can't find the problem, post your file.

oh god!!!! <Smacks head into desk>

I had two tables in the database and was using the second table. Thanks for pointing it out to me. Sorry for posting needlessly.
