Kicker3 Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 When I open via a script (for example a small notes window) it also minimize's the main layout window that I was in. Is there a way to leave the main layout window open and maximized. and just open the notes window on top without affecting the main layout window size ?
Kicker3 Posted April 23, 2005 Author Posted April 23, 2005 I thought this would be an easy question for you expert FM dev. Maby its a stupid question. But I still would like some feedback Plaese.
Lee Smith Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Hi Kicker, Before asking a question, you should do a search of the Forums using your keywords. This typic has been discussed in the past, in fact there was a discussion about this just 4 days ago. The discussion was return as one of the 200 hits I got using ] [color:"blue"] +window +open as Keywords Searching "[color:"blue"]All Forums" and remove the [color:"blue"] 1 in [color:"blue"] Weeks I wouldn't wait for someone to answer, I would just try variations of the search. Kicker3 Posted April 24, 2005 Author Posted April 24, 2005 I searched the 200 threads but none that I could find answered my question. So can someone just tell me how to do this? Please
MoonShadow Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Is there a way to leave the main layout window open and maximized. and just open the notes window on top without affecting the main layout window size ? Sorry no, there isn't a way. Welcome to the world of Windows. You can not mix maximized and window'd states. Any time you drop ANY window in FM into window, ALL will follow. The best you can do is, if you open a new window, have your prior window display in it's maximum window'd state. So if you wish to use multiple windows in FileMaker, give up ever maximizing.
Lee Smith Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Hi Kicker, From your first post, you said: window open and maximized In my reply, I said: I wouldn't wait for someone to answer, I would just try variations of the search. Using [color:"blue"] +window +maximize +open the Thread just below your current thread held the answer. Lee
