May 4, 200520 yr Uses Batch file so possibly windows only, attached file is fmp7. NO PLUGIN REQUIRED! 1. Filename obtained from embedded file via calc on the container. 2. Push Open button runs a script that- Exports file using a generic name, a batch scipt file is created and then run that changes file to original filename. File is then opened via an open url script. 1 Button, no user input. WARNING- one downside is that it will not open files that have a space in their filename. INPUT on this would be good if there is a work around. opencontainer.zip
May 6, 200520 yr Author Substitute(filename;" ";"%20") in openUrl Script Step. Then it works with spaces. tried inserting the above but filemaker wont except the calc

January 9, 200620 yr You might want to check out command xp, it creates files, renames files, moves files, deletes files, all with no plug-ins. http://www.codesentry.com
January 9, 200620 yr With respect, this is a section for Sample Files & Open Source Solutions. I think forum members expect to learn something useful here? Learning they can purchase your product does not count - the Product Announcements section would be much more appropriate for that, IMHO.
January 11, 200620 yr Sorry, I thought that this woas under FileMaker Marketplace > Product Announcements..... That is certainly what shows up in my browser....and certainly what it says under location.
