Uses Batch file so possibly windows only, attached file is fmp7.

NO PLUGIN REQUIRED!

1. Filename obtained from embedded file via calc on the container.

2. Push Open button runs a script that-

Exports file using a generic name, a batch scipt file is created and then run that changes file to original filename. File is then opened via an open url script.

1 Button, no user input.

WARNING- one downside is that it will not open files that have a space in their filename.

INPUT on this would be good if there is a work around.

opencontainer.zip

Substitute(filename;" ";"%20") in openUrl Script Step. Then it works with spaces.

tried inserting the above but filemaker wont except the calc

The calculation as shown should work. do you have the fields involved Text and the Result of Text?

What is is doing or not doing? Maybe a sample of the URL will help narrow it down

Sorry Lee what i meant was does anyone else have other ways of doing this or ways to make this better.

You might want to check out command xp, it creates files, renames files, moves files, deletes files, all with no plug-ins.

With respect, this is a section for Sample Files & Open Source Solutions. I think forum members expect to learn something useful here? Learning they can purchase your product does not count - the Product Announcements section would be much more appropriate for that, IMHO.

Sorry, I thought that this woas under FileMaker Marketplace > Product Announcements.....

That is certainly what shows up in my browser....and certainly what it says under location.

I moved it to here. :crazy2::wink2:
