Alpha-Snail Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 I spoke with a Filemaker Salesperson the other day. They said that running FM7 Adv Server, you can actually go over the 250 user limit, and make it so that my only limitation would be the physical capacity of the hardware. I've seen absolutely no documentation supporting this ascertion. Is it possible to go over 250? If so, how? Also, what is the difference between "sharing FileMaker solutions over the web with up to 100 simultaneous users" and "sharing databases with 2 to 250 simultaneous users" ... which is what is stated on FM's website about FM7 Adv? Thanks, The Snail
Wim Decorte Posted May 22, 2005 Posted May 22, 2005 It' not possible to share to more than 250 concurrent FMP guests at the same time without doing some sort of server synchornization. FMSA does allow 100 session-managed web connections in addition to the 250 FMP guests, but those extra 100 are through the browser, not FMP. 100 is not the max # of web clients though, just the max # of session-managed concurrent web clients. Without session-management the real limit of web clients is largely dependant on the db structure and the slowest factor in the wb-server -> FMSA server chain.
