Error 1723, during install of FMP demo on Win 2000

"Error 1723. There is a problem with this Windows

Installer package. A DLL required for this install to

complete could not be run. Contact your support

personnel or package vendor."

Just to make sure we didn't get a wacked download, I transferred it to my computer (win xp) and upzipped it and installed it there, no problem. I've searched all over the net for any information on this error. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi,

it's not a FileMaker error, but an installer error. It usually occurs when your system doesn't meet minumum system requirements.

Make sure you have service pack 4 on that 2000 box.

If you do, make sure to shut down all other apps before installing, especially virus scanners.
