FM7 Creating new records from a found set?

Featured Replies

Please help - I am going nuts!!

Mac OSX - Tiger

Moving from 5.5 to 7.0

I have two tables in my Special Ed File.

One table is student/teacher schedule.

Second table is the entry table where grades, behavior etc is stored (along with the student/teacher information). Each week, a teacher needs to create a new set of empty records in the entry file to update student progress. In FM 5.5 I had a button that would find that teachers schedule in the related file, and then in the entry file, I would import that found set of teacher/student records, Therefore creating an empty set of records for data input.

With FM7 I am feeling totally stupid on how to do this -- I tried finding a set in the teacher/schedule table, then going to the layout in the entry table and importing - but I get the entire school population. I tried copying and pasting but that doesn't work. I know I could create a seperate file - one solely for student/teacher information and do the relationship like 5.5, but I was hoping to use the features of FM7 and keep it all together.

Thank you Thank you Thank you

Thank you - I assume after I download, I will be able to do "the import".
