chasm24 Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 is there a way to create a field, hidden from my users, to track who made the last modification--based on their login info?
chasm24 Posted July 26, 2005 Author Posted July 26, 2005 great! can you tell me how to do it? much appreciated
Ted S Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Sorry, just being a wise guy. You could create a couple fields; one for the name of the person who last modified the record and the other for the date and time the record was modified. You don't need to put them on your layout. With your new field highlighted (under DEFINE DATABASE) choose OPTIONS and then on the AUTO-ENTER tab choose to have the MODIFICATION DateTime auto entered in one field and the Account Name in the other.
Lee Smith Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 I know I have suggested how to search for past threads with like subjects or topics in the past, so I won't go into this again. Keywords +Audit +Trail, or +Field +Modification, or +Field +Tracking this should return a bunch of threads on this subject, most have example files attached or linked. Lee
