ngwaltne Posted April 10, 2002 Posted April 10, 2002 I have created my first database of any size. With your help and VTC online university it worked with only minor glitches. I have run into a basic problem however. How do I set character limits on fields. Did not have time to work on this before it was used the first time so I used a character count. People went beyond this count. I can figure out part of this, the count, but how do I get the entry to stop. I hope this is clear. Thank You in Advance
mf Posted April 10, 2002 Posted April 10, 2002 Set the maximum field length in the field definition. Select the field, click Options, Validation and set "Maximum number of characters".
ngwaltne Posted April 12, 2002 Author Posted April 12, 2002 This does not, however, stop the typist at Set # of characters. It just informs them that they have entered too many characters. Can I stop their typing at # of characters? Thanks
IdealData Posted April 12, 2002 Posted April 12, 2002 I think this is something that all of us would like, but no joy. Maybe there's a plug-in somewhere ?
