Can I make standalone databases for the Mac and Windows off of just my Mac? Can I make a standalone database that will work on both platforms?

No. The PC runtime creation process must happen on a Windows box.... Virtual PC might work but I probably wouldn't recommend it. Nothing like the real thing.

i tested it creat a runtime for both mac & PC on a mac with the PC runtime maker on my mac too

2 runtime are created but the one for mac works normally

but the runtime for PC created directly (without VPC) doesn't work on a PC

I use VPC and FMDev5.5 for Win95, Win98, and WinME. Then I switch to FMAdv8.0 under VPC for WinXP.
